Focussing on Canadian security matters for the past decade, Colin Freeze has reported extensively on the interplay between government, police, spy services, and the judiciary.
A member of the Globe and Mail’s Investigative Team, he reports largely from Toronto and occasionally Ottawa. In the past, he has been sent on assignment to Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, and El Salvador.
In the past year, he has used access to information laws to report extensively and exclusively on a federal government surveillance agency (CSEC) including its collection of Canadian citizen’s “metadata”.
